Some say Khao Soi is the best tasting soup on Earth. I don’t know about that, but it ranks right up there among my favourites.
We recently had a discussion about favourite Thai foods and Khao Soi was probably mine. If you haven’t had it, it’s a soup with a coconut milk and curry base, with hand cut rice or egg noodles in the soup, and crispy, deep fried noodles on top. You add in pickled vegetables, red onion, and a squeeze of lime.
It is not the sort of thing I normally have for breakfast, nor is Coke, but I haven’t found coffee, and the Khao Soi is a great breakfast.
I heard about Khao Soi Chiang Mai (in Sattahip!) a while back on YouTube, so I bookmarked it right away. Now, you’d think that this northern Thai specialty would be best up north in Chiang Mai, where it’s very common, but this is some of the best Khao Soi I’ve had in Thailand. I wanted to go last night but it is a breakfast and lunch place. It’s not too hard to find. I’ve included the link for it below, and a map so you can find it.
The Khao Soi here is probably the best I have had. It’s really really good. I had mine with pork today, but you can get chicken or beef too.
I know they have other items on the menu, but everyone seems to be eating the Khao Soi.
On the way to this restaurant I drove by The Bikers Cafe in Sattahip, so I won’t have far to go for the event there.
