We have supported a variety of YouTube channels in the past, and will continue to do so.
We cut our cable nearly 15 years ago, and started watching Netflix, but also YouTube. While we don’t have a huge entertainment budget, so we figured Patreon is a great way to give back and support some of the creators we really enjoy!
We hope that our contributions will keep them going and keep them creating the interesting and entertaining travel videos we really enjoy. One aspect that we really like about it is that it bypasses the fickle YouTube algorithm and the creators we like have an alternate source of income.
I wish we could support all the creators we watch regularly. Our strategy has been to spread our budget around rather than a larger amount to just a few. If you haven’t ever considered supporting your favourite content creators (they don’t just have to be on YouTube), you should! Cut your cable, save some money on your phone bill, or divert some of your entertainment budget, if you’re able. It’s a great way to make sure your entertainment dollars directly support creators you like!
