Last night I made my way to Pattaya, on my way to Chanthaburi. I was excited to stay in the new Hop Inn Central Pattaya. It just opened, and it’s the nicest one I’ve been in so far.
They have made some nice additions to their standard layout, yet the rooms are still almost identical to every other (not a complaint).
I know, it’s weird that I get excited about a new hotel, but I have stayed in a lot of Hop Inns in Thailand! I had discovered that this new hotel was nearly built when I stayed at the Embryo Hotel next door. It’s also a really nice hotel, especially if you’re looking for a few more amenities, like a pool. They’re both great choices!
I ate at Inyon Korea Restaurant, a Korean BBQ place, for supper, just across the road. It was good but I didn’t go for the buffet option. I have been losing a bit of weight recently, which I really need to do! My trip to Chiang Mai was more of a culinary tour than anything else! I’m not complaining and, surprisingly, I arrived in Bangkok after two weeks at the same weight as when I left. Walking a lot certainly helped!
A friend encouraged me to go on a strict low carb, high fat diet. I have done variations of the keto diet before but I think I need a really hardcore version of it this time. I am a little “poom puy” according to some Thai friends. That’s Thai for “chubby.” They’re not wrong!
I am on my way to Khao Kitchakut in Chanthaburi, a mountain-top temple only open two months per year. Once there, I should be able to work off my breakfast at La Cremerie in Pattaya.
I love this place! It’s a Belgian/French restaurant and the food is excellent! The coffee reminds me of my trip to Belgium. The whipped cream is like a dessert, and they typically serve it with a slice of bread pudding. It’s a good thing I don’t live nearby!
