Exploring Bangkok – My Neighbourhood

Without a doubt, plumeria are my favourite flowers in Thailand!

I decided to mix up my morning routine and started my day with a long walk. Getting more active has been high in my agenda recently, especially after being sick with bronchitis for all of March. It seemed like April was all about visiting with friends, doing a bit of travel, and getting started on some tasks I’d been putting off for a while.

I haven’t done a lot of walking in my neighbourhood recently. It’s nice that the air quality in Bangkok has improved lately too. The rain has helped, and burning season is on the wane. The air quality has kept me inside as much as anything!

In addition to exploring a few parts of the neighbourhood I hadn’t seen before I, of course, had to stop and take pictures of some of the flowers

While I was out I stopped at Talk Dirty Cafe to fuel up with some caffeine, and instead of heading home I decided to head over to Wat Dong Mun Lek Beef Noodles for lunch.

So, what are some of the tasks I’ve been putting off? The big one is moving posts from Facebook onto our WordPress site, which is where you are reading this now.

After we moved to Thailand it was just a lot easier to post things on Facebook, honestly. For those who may not be aware, we were in a car accident just before moving to Thailand. I got a concussion and whiplash after being rear-ended by a negligent driver. Crystal got whiplash.

I hadn’t had any coffee before heading out on a long walk so I made a stop to fuel up!

It’s been a long road to recovery, and I still suffer from it, though much less so than before, thankfully. I wanted to keep active and chronicle what we were up to in Southeast Asia. The plan had been to post on WordPress, but in my condition, Facebook was much easier.

The plan is to move all of our posts over, more or less. It’s a big job! The text is pretty easy, but the photos take time. My hope is that we might be able to show a few ads, and make a few bucks doing that instead of Zuck making it all!

The plan had also been to do more posts and articles about things other than just our travels around Southeast Asia. I have a ton of ideas for those, and some other websites I am working on as well.

One of the best parts about Bangkok is that it’s full of hidden gems like this.

Walking is the best way to explore Bangkok.

Thank you to our friends, family, and fans sticking with us over the years! We haven’t forgotten about you! My plan is to post more consistently, and expand what we’re doing here. We would appreciate it if you could help us out by sharing our posts with people you know!
