Does anyone remember the 1970s CTV show The Untamed World? Was this just a Canadian TV show?
I had the Untamed World theme song in my head recently, and managed to find the show it came from.
This is one of the programs I watched as a kid that inspired me to travel. Just listening to the music makes me want to pack my bags and head out on a new adventure!
The internet has certainly helped to expose everyone to the rest of the world, which is great for everyone these days. My window on the world, as a kid in the 1970s, was through travel TV shows like Untamed World, and a good set of encyclopedias. You can also look at it on IMDB.
In the past people used to joke about how boring it was to sit through slide shows. I have a few fond memories from when I was a kid where relatives or friends of the family put on some slide shows to show where they had travelled. I loved it! It opened up a whole new world, and I enjoyed the travel stories!
