The weather hasn’t been too bad on my trip, considering it’s rainy season. Today would be different though. It was mostly overcast and I drove through some major downpours on my way to Khon Kaen.
I started out the trip with breakfast at the Good Days Cafe, one of my favourites in Thailand. I’ve probably eaten breakfast there every single day I’ve been in Udon Thani, and I have been here on maybe five separate occasions. The food and coffee is good, and I like the atmosphere.
I wasn’t staying close to the cafe this time, but parked down the street. My car was being guarded when I came out. I’ve found street dogs in Thailand to be mostly harmless, and this fellow dutifully moved when I approached him.
I decided to go a bit south to Khon Kaen today as a short two hour trip rather than the longer drive I had initially planned. It gives me a shorter drive the next day, and there should be a lot of stops.
I was also feeling a bit tired today, and lazing around in the hotel seemed like a good option. I just wasn’t interested in exploring Khon Kaen today. I did venture out to Carlos’ Smash Burger to pick up a burger and fries. I brought it back to the hotel. That was a satisfying meal. I’ve been craving hamburgers lately, so that should keep me satisfied for a while. It was greasy and messy, and the fries were nice. Just the right amount.
