Last week I headed out to the Thailand International Motor Expo to see some interesting cars and motorcycles.
This time I was far less interested in the cars than the motorcycles. We have a car, and are certainly not looking at replacing it any time soon! Definitely not trading it up on a luxury vehicle either, for obvious reasons.
I sat on some interesting motorcycles, and contemplated what it might be like to ride them. I’m still happy with what I have, so I don’t have any plans to change. It was interesting to see the different models of adventure bikes from different manufacturers.
I have thought about trying out some dual sport bikes, and sat on a couple. The seats are kind of brutal on my old ass though. I would have to figure out that situation pretty quick if I were to ride one regularly. I thought it might be nice to have one in Canada for when I go back. At least I’d have a vehicle there (that I could only use in summer).
I saw some interesting classic cars, and a few other notable cars. I mostly ignored the four wheel vehicles though.
It’s interesting seeing how vehicles are marketed in Thailand. Every manufacturer has to have their slate of hot models with, uh, let’s say “augmented chests.” Marketing in general is interesting here, and a throwback to the 1950s to 1970s in North America.
