For supper tonight we went again to Kabocha Sushi. We both ordered the tuna steak, and it was truly amazing. I could have eaten three plates of this. Even the cooked vegetables that came with it were amazing! I also enjoyed the mayonnaise for the tuna, along with a green onion purée that I put on the vegetables.
To start, we had edamame and miniature fish skeletons. I don’t know what else to call it. It was like they’d filleted these tiny fish, had the leftover bones, and decided to dry them for an appetizer. It worked though. I ate those, and Crystal had the edamame.
We added some salmon sushi, as well as some gyoza to start the meal. We had two bowls of the miso soup. Mmm. For dessert we split a small chocolate cheesecake.
The food here is great, and it’s obvious a great deal of care is taken in its preparation. We’ve always had good meals at this restaurant.
Afterwards, instead of heading home, I decided I wanted to an explore an area northwest of the Ban Khaek Intersection on Itsaraphap Road. There seems to be a lot happening here, so we found parking at the nearby Big C, and wandered around the neighbourhood. We also found a few odd items in the Big C.
There are a lot of food stalls, street food, and sit-down restaurants. As we had already eaten, we didn’t buy anything, but definitely want to come back. It’s a vibrant area with a lot of interesting things happening.
