Yaowarat Road – Bangkok Chinatown

2022-11-27 by globetrotter Leave a Comment

Yaowarat Road in Bangkok aka China Town
Yaowarat Road in Bangkok has so much to see and do, it’s impossible to capture it in a single sentence. From shopping in the narrow alleys, to the restaurants and street food lining the main road, there’s so much to see here! At night the place lights up and is a must-see for photographers.

Headed down to Chinatown (aka Yaowarat Road) one night recently to do some street photography. It wasn’t a rainy night, and this time I had my camera, and not just my phone. I had my Olympus 40-150 mm f/2.8 lens on (my favourite lens!), so I was able to capture some candid shots without being in someone’s face. Because of the 2x crop factor on my Panasonic G9, the lens functioned as a 80-300 mm.

Next time I go, I am going to use my Panasonic 25 mm f/1.4 lens, and probably go during the day. I also have an unusual 15 mm f/8 Olympus that will function best in daylight. I have only tested it out a bit.

I like shooting at night, and it’s always a challenge. I think I got some decent shots. Hope you like them!
